Post by: Automotive

New Mégane R.S. is the latest addition to Renault's line-up of sporting vehicles and stands out from
the other models that make up the Mégane range through its styling and performance which live up
every bit to the newcomer's sporty pedigree.

In response to customer demand, New Mégane R.S. is available from launch with a choice of two
chassis: the Sport chassis, for everyday driving pleasure, and the Cup chassis, for even more exhilarating track-focused performance.

New Mégane R.S. is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Peak power is 250hp, while
maximum torque stands at 340Nm which is available across a particularly broad rev-band to deliver
a standard of performance that can be enjoyed equally on the road and on race tracks.
New Mégane R.S. boasts a raft of specific equipment designed to heighten driving enjoyment,
including R.S. Dynamic Management (which permits three ESP modes) and R.S. Monitor (onboard

Renault to Produce Electric Fluence Sedan at Bursa Plant in Turkey from 2011

Having already confirmed the production versions of the Twizy and Zoe Z.E. electric concept cars, Renault today announced that the third member of its new family of EVs, the all-electric Fluence sedan, which was also presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show this past September, will be manufactured at the OYAK-Renault Bursa plant in Turkey. The French automaker said that it plans to launch the Fluence EV first in Israel and Denmark, followed by other countries, from the first half of 2011.

Evidently, the electric saloon will be based on the recently launched Fluence sedan, but it is unclear if Renault will spice up the looks of the car in the same way it did with the Frankfurt Show concept model.

Renault said that owners of the electric Fluence will have three battery charge options: standard charge, rapid charge and a 'QuickDrop' battery exchange that allows that removal and replacement of the batteries in a mere three minutes.

We don't have any details on the vehicle's specs yet, but it is safe to assume that the production model will be powered by the same 95HP electric motor found in the concept car.

Renault Sand’up Concept Car Announced in Brazil

Under the hood of the new Sand’up is a 1.6 liter engine that runs either on gasoline or ethanol (largely available in Brazil) and sports 110 hp and 148 Nm of torque. We have no official info, if that concept car will ever make it into production, but it does sound like a good addition, don’t you think? - via WCF

2009 Renault Megane RS

Trying to be ahead of any other hatches in the European market is no easy task, but Renault seems to have the right ingredients for an amazing car. Just a few days ago in Geneva, the latest Renault Megane RS has been unveiled to the public and everyone seemed to love it. Inspired by the Trophy racer Megane, the new RS is definitely meaner and faster. With an agressive front grille splitter and big arches, a center-exit exhaust within the diffuser, bulging side sills and some intriguing two-tone alloys, you’ll have to admit that even if it’s a French car … it’s a damn good looking one.
